2nd Grade Teacher
Amanda Mesa-Quinn
Amanda graduated with honors from Western Oregon University in 2020 with her degree in Elementary Education. Prior to finishing her degree Amanda spent several years volunteering and working in classified positions in various settings. This experience has made Amanda passionate about equity and ensuring all students, regardless of their background, receive a quality education. Amanda considers student health and well-being to be foundational in ensuring success in all academics.
Amanda is joining TLCS online starting this 2021-22 school year, and she is excited to watch her students progress with learning plans that fit their individual needs and interests.

Megan Wolf
About
Megan began her career as a Kindergarten teacher at Hawthorn Elementary School North in Vernon Hills, IL. After spending 5 years in the classroom, she hit the road in 2020 and spent the year as a remote ESP in 1st and 3rd Grade classrooms for Carver Elementary in Massachusetts and a remote Assignment Reviewer for TNTP. She has also worked as a tutor for pre-K through 7th grade students over the years. Megan has been with TLCS Online since the 2021-2022 school year. Outside of public school teaching, Megan serves as the President of the Board and Nature School Facilitator for a nonprofit organization called Sage Valley. She lives in a converted short school bus RV and travels the country full time with her cat, Harmony. Her hobbies include aerial silks and hoop (lyra), dancing, hiking, crocheting, live music, reading, playing bass guitar and ukulele, singing, creating art, gardening, travel, community building, astronomy, sustainability, and the circus!
Degree
Megan holds a BS in Elementary Education from DePaul University (2015) with endorsements in Art and French. She also holds a MEd in Diverse Learners from Trinity International University (2019) with endorsements in ESL and Special Education.
Education
Megan attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago for 2 years before transferring to DePaul to pursue a career in teaching. She graduated from DePaul summa cum laude in 2015. While working as a Kindergarten teacher, she went back to school and graduated summa cum laude from Trinity International University with her Master of Education in 2019.
Experience
Megan’s diverse and extensive experiences have prepared her to serve families and students at TLCS Online. Besides having a passion for - and the most experience with - the littlest learners, Megan has a preference for and considerable experience in online, individualized learning, both as a student and a teacher. Megan completed many of her undergraduate courses online and her graduate program was entirely online. Additionally, Megan has been tutoring students, teaching, and working online exclusively for the past 2 years. She has always believed in adaptive, personalized, differentiated learning and has tried to bring as much choice, flexibility, responsiveness, and hands-on learning to her students as possible, even in the physical classroom. Besides her experiences in the US, Megan has also taught primary students in Uganda and tutored an ESL family in France.541-925-3262

3rd Grade Teacher
Shayla Ordonez
Shayla currently lives in Dallas, OR with her husband, Fernando and their three sons, Mateo (8), Cruz (6), and Luka (3). Shayla received her BA from Northwest University in Kirkland, WA, and her Master’s from Western Oregon University. She spent several years teaching 6th grade at LaCreole Middle School in Dallas, OR where she had attended 7th and 8th grade herself. She then taught at Dallas Community School, a charter school which works with homeschool families. She worked with students ranging from Kindergarten through 8th grade. She found a passion in working with both students and parents and loved the relationships she built with each of her families!
When Shayla isn’t busy with her three active boys, which is never :) you can find her spending time with her family, shopping, enjoying a nice cup of coffee, or spending the weekend at the coast or Black Butte. She is about to begin her biggest adventure yet, moving into a fifth wheel with her family, while they build their dream home.
She brings 12+years of teaching experience and a love of curriculum and helping families find what works best for them!
